TEEN STUDIO DIVISION

(6th-12th Graders, Ages 13-18)

Georgia Dance Conservatory’s Teen classes allow recreational dance students to further progress through the levels of each dance style while fostering the development of confidence, poise, discipline, and positive self-expression. Each discipline has a specific focus, from alignment, strength, and flexibility to memorization, coordination, and performance. All Teen classes perform in GDC’s annual Recital.

Ballet

GDC’s Teen Ballet classes provide dancers with a deeper understanding  of the Vaganova method of  ballet technique while reinforcing  a sense of self discipline and work ethic. Exercises at the barre, in center, and across the floor become more challenging with the addition of elements such as speed, releve, and changes in direction. Emphasis is placed on proper execution of technique in order to provide consistent growth for the dancer, as well as to  ensure their safety and longevity. Placement is based on previous ballet experience.
